R v T – Weeks of discrepancies in cash recording caused a business to accuse our client, who had years of excellent service, of theft from employer. In preparation for trial we questioned the thoroughness of the business’ internal investigation and unearthed material that not only indicated significant lines of inquiry had been ignored but also discovered information that tended to suggest our client wasn’t even working at times of the alleged thefts. “Not guilty” recorded on all matters when the Prosecution accepted our criticisms that were detailed in writing before the trial. A good example of why a legally aided defence lawyer is essential to scrutinising and testing a Prosecution brought against anyone. Advocate: Warren Robinson. Solicitor: Kate Scott.
